The Frog

Saturday, February 28, 2009

I'm sure we've all seen this in our mailboxes from time to time, however, refresher courses are always valuable. That and I got nothing else today. LOL

NINE WORDS WOMEN USE

(1) Fine: This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right, and you need to shut up.

(2) Five Minutes: If she is getting dressed, this means a half an hour. Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house.

(3) Nothing: This is the calm before the storm. This means something, and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with "nothing" usually end in "fine".
(4) Go Ahead: This is a dare, not permission. Don't Do It!

(5) Loud Sigh: This is actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A loud sigh means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you about nothing. (Refer back to # 3 for the meaning of nothing.)

(6) That's Okay: This is one of the most dangerous statements a women can make to a man. "That's okay" means she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.

(7) Thanks : A woman is thanking you, do not question, or faint. Just say you're welcome. (I want to add in a clause here - This is true, unless she says "Thanks a lot" - that is PURE sarcasm, and she is not thanking you at all. DO NOT say "you're welcome" . That will bring on a "whatever").

(8) Whatever: Is a woman's way of saying F-- YOU!

(9) Don't worry about it... I got it: Another dangerous statement, meaning this is something that a woman has told a man to do several times, but is now doing it herself. This will later result in a man asking "What's wrong?'" For the woman's response refer to # 3.

ஜ~§Quote of the Day§~ஜ

Before marriage, a girl has to make love to a man to hold him. After marriage, she has to hold him to make love to him.
Marilyn Monroe

ஜ~§The Question Of The Day§~ஜ

What quality do you think is most important in a significant other?

Humor. If you can't laugh in the face of adversity, you'll just cry puddles over it. Therefor, humor would be the most important quality. That and a large ....

bank account. *winks*

Cheeky monkeys!!

Promises in Death. This is kind of a sad one for me ... as the murder victim is a character that we've come across before in the series. =(

Tonight is: Legend of the Seeker, and TV Catch-up. Last night's BSG was AWESOME ... so was TSCC. I love TV ... I just LOVE IT!!!

Frog, The

Be kind and tender to the Frog,
And do not call him names,
As "Slimy skin," or "Polly-wog,"
Or likewise "Ugly James,"
Or "Gap-a-grin," or "Toad-gone-wrong,"
Or "Bill Bandy-knees":
The Frog is justly sensitive
To epithets like these.

No animal will more repay
A treatment kind and fair;
At least so lonely people say
Who keep a frog (and, by the way,
They are extremely rare).

Hilaire Belloc

Chicken with Garlic and Parsley

Ingredients:
4 Chicken Breast halves, boneless, skin on
12 Cloves Garlic, peeled
1/4 cup Italian parsley leaves
Salt
Freshly ground white pepper
2 tablespoons Unsalted Butter
1 Large Lemon, juiced
1 tablespoon Parsley, finely chopped

Preparation:
In a small saucepan, blanch the garlic cloves in boiling water for 1 minute.

Drain and slice the garlic thinly.

Toss them in a small bowl with the parsley and a little salt and pepper.

Stuff a little of the garlic mixture into the pockets under the skin of the chicken breasts (about 2 teaspoons per chicken).

Transfer the chicken to a plate, cover with plastic wrap and chill until ready to use.

Heat a charcoal or gas grill until moderately hot.

Grill the chicken 8 to 10 minutes per side until cooked through.
Do not overcook.

Heat the butter in a saute pan and gently saute the remaining garlic mixture.

Add the lemon juice and chopped parsley, and season to taste with salt and pepper.

Yield: 4 servings

Brightest Blessings,
