Now the Lusty Spring

Monday, December 29, 2008

Well, I had to delete my blog and then re-import it, so I've lost all of my followers. You may have to re-follow me again. I apologize for the inconvenience of that.

I'm really looking forward to having another 3 day weekend. I'll need it to get caught up on housework that was put by the way while getting ready for Christmas. In addition, I'll have more time to spend with my guy too.

I'm heading out to St Louis to meet up with my man the first week of February ... I'm really looking forward to that trip. I'm off again to Denver for some additional training the second week of January ... My posts may be a bit erratic while I'm out there. So that's the news in a nutshell.

There's another quick story under the 'Question of the Day' portion of this blog.

ஜ~§Quote of the Day§~ஜ

To find the universal elements enough; to find the air and the water exhilarating; to be refreshed by a morning walk or an evening saunter; to be thrilled by the stars at night; to be elated over a bird's nest or a wildflower in spring - these are some of the rewards of the simple life. John Burroughs

ஜ~§The Question Of The Day§~ஜ

Whether you believe in the paranormal or not, you've probably experienced something that you couldn't explain. What was it?

I have a quick story here: When I was younger ... 4 or 5 years old. My grandmother was babysitting my siblings and me. I was upstairs in the hall playing with a ball ... rolling it back and forth. I was facing the stairs, playing with my 'imaginary' friend. My grandmother had walked up the steps to check up on me as I rolled the ball away from me. It rolled to about a foot away from the top step, stopped and then rolled quickly back to me. My grandmother was a little shaken and watched for a moment while the entire episode repeated itself, as I rolled the ball to my imaginary friend and the ball stopped and then rolled back to me. All the while I was chattering away. My imaginary friend, after I told my grandmother their name, ended up being a long dead relative. My grandmother's great grandmother.

So ... I believe.

ஜ~§The Word Of The Day§~ஜ

Seriatim

PRONUNCIATION:
(seer-i-AY-tim)

MEANING:
adverb: One after another; in a series.

ETYMOLOGY:
From Latin seriatim, from Latin series, from serere (to join). Ultimately from the Indo-European root ser- (to line up) that is also the source of words such as insert, assert, desert (to abandon), desert (a dry sandy region), sort, consort, and sorcerer.

USAGE:
"I do not have to itemize seriatim the positive transformatory effects of steady and reliable electricity supply on all aspects of our national life."

ஜ~§What I'm Reading§~ஜ

Nothing, the sad thing is ... is there's nothing on TV and I have no desire to pick up a new book. I'm considering taking a reading hiatus.

ஜ~§What I'm Watching§~ஜ

Tonight I'm recording Tin Man on the Sci-Fi network. It is a fabulous movie and a terrific take on the Wizard of Oz

ஜ~§Poem Of The Day§~ஜ

Now the Lusty Spring

NOW the lusty spring is seen;
Golden hellow, gaudy blue,
Daintily invite the view.
Everywhere on every green,
Roses blushing as they blow,
And enticing men to pull,
Lilies whiter than the snow,
Woodbines of sweet honey full:
All love's emblems, and all cry,
"Ladies, if not plucked, we die."

Yet the lusty spring hath stayed;
Blushing red and purest white
Daintily to love invite
Every woman, every maid.
Cherries kissing as they grow,
And inviting men to taste,
Apples even ripe below,
Winding gently to the waist:
All love's emblems, and all cry,
"Ladies, if not plucked, we die."

John Fletcher

Hey Sweet Pea!
I once saw a black shadow when I was about 4ish. It was just standing in the doorway of our apartment. It wanted me to follow, but didn't speak. Then my mom came out of her room and it disappeared. Strange eh?
Thanks for that recipe, I'm going to make it for dinner.
Happy day to you! :)

recipes...YEA. And that story about your imaginary friend freaked me OUT.

Now write your dating website ad. Lie, cheat, steal....whatever it takes.

I'll tell you a secret. I "lifted" a line of my ad from this man I wanted to date. I thought he would find me, read that we had the same skills, and ask me out.

Didn't work. groan.

...and I'm refollowing. A reading hiatus? You can do that? How curious. I'll have to look into that ;)

I am refollowing, of course! And paranormal? To some it's just normal: who added that "para" bit anyway??!!

That was a creepy story. The only thing I have was when I was little I had a small crucifix on my nightstand. Also on my nightstand was a vining plant. I was laying on my bed reading, when suddenly one of the vines of the plant slid off the side of the table, and caught the crucifix, which it then dangled upside down! It was kind of creepy as I looked over at the dangling crucifix, swaying a little on the vine.
