To: Discombobulated Housewife, I couldn't leave this comment on your blog, for some reason it doesn't recognize my account.

I really like Swampwitch Sticks better than Bayou Sticks ... it's got a nice illiteration to it.

Stay strong!!!

(There was more, but it had a bit of a personal bent that I didn't think you'd necessarily want advertised)

Here's a bit of a funny for you folks!

A man had just finished reading his book "Man Of The House" while making his commute home from work. By the time he reached home, he stormed into the house and walked directly up to his wife, pointing his finger in her face, he said: "From now on I want you to know that I am the man of the house and my word is law! You are to prepare me a gourmet meal tonight, and when I'm finished eating my meal, I expect a scrumptious dessert afterward. Then, after dinner, you're going to draw my bath so I can relax. When I'm finished with my bath, guess who's going to dress me and comb my hair?"

"The Funeral Director would be my guess," said his wife.

ஜ~§The Question Of The Day§~ஜ

Yesterday in 1893 U.S. President Benjamin Harrison declared full amnesty for Mormon polygamists. Is it the government's place to define which marriages are valid and which are not?

ஜ~§Poem Of The Day§~ஜ

A Song

COME, I will make the continent indissoluble;
I will make the most splendid race the sun ever yet shone upon;
I will make divine magnetic lands,
With the love of comrades,
With the life-long love of comrades.

I will plant companionship thick as trees along all the rivers of
America, and along the shores of the great lakes, and all over
the prairies;
I will make inseparable cities, with their arms about each other's
necks;
By the love of comrades,
By the manly love of comrades.

For you these, from me, O Democracy, to serve you, ma femme! 10
For you! for you, I am trilling these songs,
In the love of comrades,
In the high-towering love of comrades.

Walt Whitman

3 tablespoons drained capers
1 1/2 tablespoons minced shallot

It's amazing what the government does and doesn't stick its nose into. Like gay marriage and steroids in baseball. I don't know that those are the most important things the government should be dealing with. Is that what we hire them for?

Bugs or not, you and Sparkle have brought the beauty of your blogs here. I am just glad the comments are back. :)

I have spent the past two days watching season4 Lost. Now I reeeeally can't wait!

That's exactly "not" why we hired those two-bit, self-aggrandized, egotistical, jerkfaces!!!

We hired them to protect our rights to Life Liberty and the Persuit of Happiness!!! That's it ... nothing else ... no nose-sticking, no nothin'!!!

Evanesco, I'm glad I got that little bug worked out as well. Although I'd prefer the comments section to embed, it does not seem to like that request from me. :)

Question -

Depends. If we accept that 'marriage' is something that requires definition in civil law, and by extension, regulation by law, then we are asking government to define 'acceptable marriage'. In that case, no religious group has the right to define the terms of marriage for any other group.

If we don't want government interference in marriage (and I don't) then religious groups are free to define marriage however they choose, it just won't have the force of law. In which case, the religious groups cannot and should not try and force the government to define marriage.

I don't want any group defining who I can marry, or defining the acceptability of my marriage. Not really any of their damn business. KMcJoseph has it right: amazing what the govt. is concerning itself with.

Hi! This is off subject ... I wanted to answer your question about tofu, which you left on my site. I answered it there but, if you're like me, getting back to a blog to see if the question was answered is hard. I tried to send you an email but ... it failed ... so ... I'm going to answer you here. I hope that's ok.

My motto about food is: when in doubt, toss it out. Getting food poisoning isn't worth it. That being said ... tofu can be stored in your refrigerator, in water ... and the water should be changed daily. Manufacturers suggest only keeping it a week but I've kept it longer. When I use it, I check it over and if it smells bad, looks bad or feels slimy ... it gets tossed.

BTW ... I've been following you for awhile but I just noticed today that I didn't show up as a follower on your site. Well ... I fixed that little problem! :)

Take care!
