It Was an April Morning: Fresh and Clear

Funny thing came about in chat, I'm pretty sure that several of you that read The Wise Young Mommy AND WYM will enjoy it. So ... I was in chat ... another loverly obsession of mine, and Lolli was having a difficult time saying the word 'Armadillo', she called it 'Armadildo' ... I immediately thought to myself, "Save a cowboy ... Armadildo"

Speaking of 'ArmedDildos' ... has anyone ever wondered why girl toys are in such a plethor of colors ... I mean ... purple, blue, pink, multi-colored ... what? Am I having sex with the crew of the Starship Enterprise? What is UP with that? Do the people that design these things get bored? Do they use their own toys as 'artistic decorations' in their homes? I'd really like to know ... someday ... when I'm near my deathbed, I don't think I want to carry that knowledge around with me for the next 30 years. Thanks!

Moving on!!!

So I promised ya'll a drunken rant, so here is the RANT! Yeah ... the stimulus package!(again ... keep thinking armadildos) We're on a sinking ship ... and instead of saving our children or grandchildren ... we're saving ourselves with socialistic handouts that are contrary to our beliefs in LIFE, LIBERTY and the PERSUIT of happiness.

NO ONE FOOKIN GUARANTEED YOUR HAPPINESS!!!

Get bloody over it, you were not guaranteed life, or money, or healthcare, or the life long dream of standing in breadlines, of being FIRST because you're a 'party member' ... a band of SHEOPLE.

People you're giving up your FREEDOM, can't you see it? You're giving it up so you can have some freakin' out of date OIL stamps or what you 'consider' to be safety. WTF are you people thinking? Who ENTITLED you to this? NO ONE DID, the people ... the Constitution of this great united states entitles you to work for it ... so go effin work for it!!! That's ALL you're entitled to! OPPORTUNITY!!! You lazy asses are NOT entitled to MY hard worked for money!!!
I know the people that follow me and the people that I follow here and on twitter are hard working, fantastic people, so obviously you all are in the clear here.

But seriously ... when someone comes out from an Obama campaign speach ... sighing and thanking GOD that they no longer have to pay their own bills, that's a PROBLEM for me. WHO IS GOING TO PAY THEM? oh that's right ... I AM ... because I'm NOT a lazy two-bit-son-of-a-no-good-drunken-whore!!!!

People ... if you want to live in a socialist country ... MOVE TO ONE. There are plenty out there.

STIMULUS PACKAGE ... DENIED!!!

We, as hardworking AMERICANS, will make it work damnit ... come HELL OR HIGH WATER ... because THAT'S WHAT WE DO!!! We don't need no stinkin government to do it FOR US. And we certainly don't need socialism to guide us there either!!!

END RANT!

Post Note: Dwayne 'The Rock' is AWESOME!!!

ஜ~§Poem Of The Day§~ஜ

"It was an April morning: fresh and clear"

It was an April morning: fresh and clear
The Rivulet, delighting in its strength,
Ran with a young man's speed; and yet the voice
Of waters which the winter had supplied
Was softened down into a vernal tone.
The spirit of enjoyment and desire,
And hopes and wishes, from all living things
Went circling, like a multitude of sounds.
The budding groves seemed eager to urge on
The steps of June; as if their various hues
Were only hindrances that stood between
Them and their object: but, meanwhile, prevailed
Such an entire contentment in the air
That every naked ash, and tardy tree
Yet leafless, showed as if the countenance
With which it looked on this delightful day
Were native to the summer.--Up the brook
I roamed in the confusion of my heart,
Alive to all things and forgetting all.
At length I to a sudden turning came
In this continuous glen, where down a rock
The Stream, so ardent in its course before,
Sent forth such sallies of glad sound, that all
Which I till then had heard, appeared the voice
Of common pleasure: beast and bird, the lamb,
The shepherd's dog, the linnet and the thrush
Vied with this waterfall, and made a song,
Which, while I listened, seemed like the wild growth
Or like some natural produce of the air,
That could not cease to be. Green leaves were here;
But 'twas the foliage of the rocks--the birch,
The yew, the holly, and the bright green thorn,
With hanging islands of resplendent furze:
And, on a summit, distant a short space,
By any who should look beyond the dell,
A single mountain-cottage might be seen.
I gazed and gazed, and to myself I said,
"Our thoughts at least are ours; and this wild nook,
My EMMA, I will dedicate to thee."
----Soon did the spot become my other home,
My dwelling, and my out-of-doors abode.
And, of the Shepherds who have seen me there,
To whom I sometimes in our idle talk
Have told this fancy, two or three, perhaps,
Years after we are gone and in our graves,
When they have cause to speak of this wild place,
May call it by the name of EMMA'S DELL.

William Wordsworth

Pork Schnitzel

Ingredients:
4 boneless pork chops (1 pound total), 1/2 inch thick
1/4 cup flour
1 teaspoon seasoned salt (Spike or Lawrey's, or just substitute plain salt)
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 egg, beaten
2 Tbsp milk
3/4 cup fine dry bread crumbs or panko
1 teaspoon paprika
3 Tbsp olive oil
3/4 cup chicken stock
1/2 teaspoon dried dill or 2 teaspoons chopped fresh dill
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup sour cream

Preparation:
Use a meat hammer to pound the pork cutlets to 1/4-1/8 inch thickness. Cut small slits around the edges of the cutlets to prevent curling.

2 Set out 3 shallow bowls. One with a mixture of the flour, seasoned salt, and pepper. The second with the egg and milk whisked together. The third with a mixture of the bread crumbs (or panko) and paprika.

3 Heat the olive oil in a large skillet on medium high heat. Dredge the cutlets first in the seasoned flour, then dip the cutlets in the egg mixture, and then into the mixture of bread crumbs and paprika.

4 Working in batches, sauté the cutlets for 3-4 minutes on each side. Remove the cutlets form the skillet and cover with foil or place in a warm oven to keep warm.

5 Add the chicken stock into the skillet to deglaze the pan, scraping the bottom of the pan to loosen the brown bits. In a small bowl mix the dill and salt into the sour cream. Stir the sour cream mixture into the chicken stock. Heat and stir until mixture thickens (do not let boil).

Serve the cutlets with the sauce, and lemon slices if you like. Serves 4.

Brightest Blessings,
~S~

The pic was me ... and it was from about 12 years ago. When I was in my prime. I was afraid to keep it up, as my family may actually read this blog. *winks*

You know, that's a VERY good point about the pied toys! I have never thought of thise before, but I HAVE thought that the flesh-toned ones give me the heebie-jeebies. So, maybe that's why they're colored?

And...ICK!!!...socialism.

I know nothing of Wordsworth, but that Emma sure was a lucky gal.
