The Looky-Loos

Lonliness

I have no real news. I'm exhausted again. I just can't get into the swing of this new schedule. The online guy that I've told ya'll about and myself are apparently on the outs. I hope to rectify that soonest. Dunno about that. I'll be housesitting at my parents this week. WOOT. Lots of room to spread out which is nice. I'm posting one of my own poems for the blog today, I wrote it the other night. It could probably stand some tweaking ... but I'm too tired to tweak.

Here's a bit of a funny:

No matter what situations life throws at you...

No matter how long and treacherous your journey may seem...

Remember, there is always a light

at the end of the tunnel.....

You're laughing aren't you?
That's good......my job here is done!
Have a great day!

Just so you all know, I really am reading your blogs, I just haven't had any comments to make. I'm still lurking around though. =)

On with the blog-o-rama ...

Top o' the morning to you! Has anyone ever pinched you for not wearing green on St. Patrick's Day?

Quodlibet

PRONUNCIATION:
(KWOD-li-bet)

MEANING:
noun:
1. A subtle argument, especially on a theological or philosophical issue.
2. A musical medley: a whimsical combination of popular tunes.

ETYMOLOGY:
From Latin quodlibetum, from Latin quod (what) + libet (it pleases), meaning "whatever pleases". Earlier the term referred to a mock exercise in discussion. Sense 2 arose from its use in German to refer to a gallimaufry of light-hearted musical compositions.

USAGE:
"Someone was sending me a signal. If words are unimportant, punctuation is something even more lowly. Why worry about such quodlibets? When was the last time anyone even noticed?"

Lonliness

Stuporous rages, malcontent
lonliness abrupt and halting in words
lazy hazy mornings head rushing
heart racing
drinking milk out of the carton
in the kitchen, bare feet

cold so cold
and the lonliness, on the edge
of a madness undefined
unable to conquor
sleep is shattered
restlesness is tossing on the sea

hurt turns to anger
red and purple and yellow
like a bruise
blood beating time
a song in my head
in my head, heart, belly, soul
spewing forth, fiery dragons breath

blackened thoughts, darkened dreams
dreaming while awake and bitter
bile on my tongue the taste foul
and the lonliness eats away at
the minute sanity.

beat the time ... beat the time

False smiles, incoherant purpose
one step then the other, another
no destination, a merry-go-round
dulled life, fabricated cheer.

And the lonliness ...

ஜ~§Recipe of the Day§~ஜ

Irish Cheddar and Stout Fondue

Ingredients:
2 cups 1- to 1 1/2-inch-diameter red-skinned potatoes, halved
2 cups cauliflower florets
2 cups very small brussels sprouts
2 apples, cored, cut into wedges

1 pound Irish cheddar cheese, grated
2 1/2 tablespoons all purpose flour
3/4 cup (or more) Irish stout (such as Guinness)
6 tablespoons frozen apple juice concentrate, thawed
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

Preparation:
Steam all vegetables until tender, about 15 minutes. Arrange vegetables and apples around edge of large platter.

Meanwhile, toss cheese with flour in large bowl. Bring 3/4 cup stout, juice concentrate, and mustard to simmer in large saucepan over medium heat. Gradually add cheese mixture, stirring constantly, until cheese is melted and smooth, thinning with more stout, if desired. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Transfer fondue to bowl. Place in center of platter with vegetables.

Brightest Blessings,

Love the picture! Took me a minute (groggy) to figure out just what the heck was going on!

Sadly, I'm not really into poetry but is your poem about insomnia? Sorry, I find xanax to be a huge help! (huge!) :)
