Did you all know that the top 10 things people dream about are as follows:
losing a valuable object or person *
I've starred the ones I recall dreaming about because I know you're EAGER to know! I'll let you know when the infamous 'tooth' dream comes around. I'll be that one is a doozy!
Overheard at work: You need to quit bootleggin' shit or you're gonna get someone killed! Yup ... Our motto ... Kill or Be Killed!
Okay ... I got a notice that my cable company was going to turn off my cable, TODAY .. the WEEK that TORCHWOOD comes on ... I was like WTF .. what the HELL are you people charging me? Anyway ... I talked the company out of it and not doing anything until payday on the 24th. Because I'm super smooth like that.
I stopped by my gramma's house today to check out her shoe collection. I'm the only one in the family with feet as small as hers, so I be stealin' da shoes. She's got several lovely pairs and knowing my gramma ... they'll be SUPER DUPER comfortable! (Yes ... I'm stealing shoes from a deceased woman, sue me. Although, she'd have wanted me to have them.)
I'm getting a new sofa, well new to me. My sofa is about 9 years old and worn the heck out. I'm taking my gramma's small leather loveseat and leather chair and ottoman. This is what we hoomans call division of property. I likes it ... I takes it. It will give me TONS more room in my apartment too. Which is really lovely!
I think that's all my news. I have classes on Tuesday and Wednesday ... so I'll probably post something ... but not a full fledged blog.
I'm working out the logistics of doing some writing about some of the books I've ventured into ... I think I'll start with the books I read during my 'classical literature' phase. I'm still working on the deets. You all know I'll keep you informed.
When they discover the center of the universe, a lot of people will be disappointed to discover they are not it. Who is your favorite lady detective from movies, books, or TV? Equanimity Brightest Blessings,

EZPZ .. that would Be Lt Eve Dallas from JD Robb's In Death series. Mm hmmm!
noun: Evenness of temper in all circumstances.
From Latin aequanimitas, from aequus (equal, even) + animus (mind, spirit).
"Even as a young netball star, Tharjini had no inflated opinion about herself nor did she ever take offence at the numerous teasing remarks or stares that her height drew. She met both celebrity status and silly remarks with equanimity."
1 pound dry sea scallops, tough muscle removed (see Ingredient note)
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
8 ounces whole-wheat angel hair pasta
1/2 cup white wine
1/2 cup clam juice
2 teaspoons cornstarch
1/4 cup chopped garlic
3 tablespoons lemon juice
1 tablespoon capers, rinsed and chopped
2 teaspoons butter
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Put a large pot of water on to boil.
Sprinkle scallops on both sides with salt and pepper. Heat oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Reduce heat to medium and add the scallops; cook, turning once, until browned on both sides, about 6 minutes total. Transfer to a plate.
Cook pasta in the boiling water until not quite tender, about 4 minutes. Drain and rinse.
Whisk wine, clam juice and cornstarch in a small bowl until smooth.
Cook garlic in the pan over medium-high heat, stirring often, until softened, 1 to 2 minutes. Add the wine mixture; bring to a boil and cook until thickened, about 2 minutes. Stir in lemon juice, capers and butter; cook until the butter melts, 1 to 2 minutes.
Return the scallops to the pan, add the pasta and cook, stirring gently, until heated through and coated with the sauce, about 1 minute. Stir in parsley and serve immediately.
Yield: 4 servings
