Ugh ... I didn't feel like stopping at the store last night, so NO soup today. Maybe tonight. So tonight you get Lamb Chops w/ Fresh Herbs and Roasted Figs

Is it just me, or do any of you have problems when you use your reader, then hit the blogsite you want to comment on? Sometimes when I'm doing this all of the sudden 2,000 tabs of same blogger's blog will open up automatically. It's a but disconcerting because it locks up my PC when that happens.

Anyway!!! I didn't make my soup last night, I was feeling lazy on my way home and I've been fighting anxiety for a few days now. So I just hustled home. Tonight I really AM stopping. I'm making my ingredient list as we speak. I'll toss everything in the pot while I'm watching Wednesday night TV.

Speaking of TV. Last night's episode of NCIS was phenomenal!!! Really terrific start to the season. Sadly I missed NCIS: LA because I was too stupid to make sure I clicked to record it. I'll be looking for that online this Friday or Saturday (my weekend days). Also there was a 2 hour Hell's Kitchen, good gods I do love Gordon Ramsay!! He cracks me the 'bleep' up! I started watching The Good Wife, if you like law drama's that's one for you. It was suprisingly good!!! I recorded 'the forgotten' however I didn't get a chance to watch it yet. I'll tell ya'll about it soonish.

Tonight's a pretty good TV night with So You Think You Can Dance, Mercy, Glee, Criminal Minds, and Eastwick. I've been watching Glee and I adore it. I've always loved SYTYCD since the first season, as well as Criminal Minds! I don't know about Mercy or Eastwick ... we'll see about those.

Monday night brought us the season premier of Heroes, which I thought started out really strongly, excellent 2 hours! Castle was really excellent as was the CBS funnies, HIMYM, 2.5 Men and TBBT. I missed CSI: Miami, which I'm returning to watching this season ... but I'm pretty sure I can get that online too. WOOT!!

Benediction

Bless this little heart, this white soul that has won the kiss of
heaven for our earth.
He loves the light of the sun, he loves the sight of his
mother's face.
He has not learned to despise the dust, and to hanker after
gold.
Clasp him to your heart and bless him.
He has come into this land of an hundred cross-roads.
I know not how he chose you from the crowd, came to your door,
and grasped you hand to ask his way.
He will follow you, laughing the talking, and not a doubt in
his heart.
Keep his trust, lead him straight and bless him.
Lay your hand on his head, and pray that though the waves
underneath grow threatening, yet the breath from above may come and
fill his sails and waft him to the heaven of peace.
Forget him not in your hurry, let him come to your heart and
bless him.

Lamb Chops w/ Fresh Herbs and Roasted Figs

Ingredients:
Lamb chops:
1 tablespoon chopped fresh rosemary
4 teaspoons chopped fresh thyme
4 teaspoons chopped fresh marjoram
2 2-pound racks of lamb, trimmed of fat and sinew
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 garlic cloves, sliced
2 tablespoons grapeseed oil

Roasted figs:
12 ripe Kadota figs, halved lengthwise
16 sprigs lemon thyme or regular thyme
Extra-virgin olive oil

Preparation:
For lamb:
Combine herbs in small bowl. Rub lamb with olive oil, half of chopped herbs, and garlic; cover and chill overnight.

Preheat oven to 425°F. Heat grapeseed oil in large skillet over medium-high heat. Sprinkle lamb with salt and pepper; sear until brown on both sides, 5 minutes total. Transfer lamb to large rimmed baking sheet; roast to desired doneness, about 20 minutes for medium-rare. Transfer lamb to cutting board; let rest 5 to 10 minutes. Maintain oven temperature; reserve baking sheet for figs.

For figs:
Place figs and thyme sprigs on baking sheet. Sprinkle with remaining herbs and drizzle with extra-virgin olive oil. Roast in oven at 425°F for 10 minutes.

Cut lamb racks into individual chops; arrange on plates and place figs alongside.

Well it looks like my formatting went into the wind on this one ... but Oh Well! What can you do? That's all folks!

Brightest Blessings,
~Surry~

That bazillion windows thing opening up only happens to me on one blog. So, unfortunately, I avoid that blog.

Ahhh..the new fall season on tv, my favorite time of the year. It's like being back with old friends.
