ஜ~§Quote of the Dayஜ~§

Formerly, when religion was strong and science weak, men mistook magic for medicine; now, when science is strong and religion weak, men mistake medicine for magic.Thomas Szasz

ஜ~§The Question Of The Dayஜ~§

In the spirit of the Darwin Awards, what gets your nomination for the stupidest act committed by a human this year?

ஜ~§What I'm Readingஜ~§

Nora Roberts: The Pagan Stone

Synopsis: Shared nightmares, visions of blood and fire, and random violence plague the longtime friends andQuinn, Layla, and Cybil, the women bound to them by Fate. None of them can ignore the fact that, this year, the demon has grown stronger -- feeding off the terror it creates. But now the three pieces of the bloodstone have been fused back together. If only they could figure out how to use it.

A gambling man like Gage has no trouble betting on his crew to find a way. And though he and Cybil share the gift of seeing the future, that's all they have in common. Were they to take their flirtation to the next level, it would be on their own terms, not because Fate decreed it. but Gage knows that a woman like Cybil -- with her brains and strength and devastating beauty -- can only bring him luck. Whether it's good or bad has yet to be determined -- and could mean the difference between absolute destruction or an end to the nightmare for Hawkins Hollow.

I'm actually nearly done with this book and I'll be moving onto a new one shortly. I'm looking forward to the 'Final Battle'. I'll write a bit of a review on the series once it's completed.

ஜ~§Recipe of the Dayஜ~§

Turkey Cutlets

Ingredients:
1/4 cup red-wine vinegar
1 tablespoon finely chopped shallot
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
10 tablespoons olive oil, divided
1 1/4 pounds turkey cutlets (1/4 inch thick)
10 ounces mesclun or mixed baby salad greens
1/4 cup Parmigiano-Reggiano shavings, removed with a vegetable peeler

Directions:
Whisk together vinegar, shallot, sugar, mustard, salt, and pepper, then add 1/2 cup oil in a stream, whisking until emulsified.

Put turkey in a large shallow baking dish and pour 1/4 cup vinaigrette over it, turning to coat. Marinate at room temperature, turning occasionally, 10 minutes. Remove from marinade and pat dry (discard used marinade).

Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a 12-inch heavy skillet over moderately high heat until just smoking, then saute half of cutlets (without crowding), turning over once, until browned and just cooked through, about 4 minutes total. Transfer as cooked to a cutting board and keep warm, loosely covered with foil. Cook remaining cutlets in remaining tablespoon oil in same manner.

Slice cutlets along the grain into 1/2-inch-wide strips.
Toss greens with some of remaining vinaigrette and any juices accumulated on cutting board until well coated. Divide greens among 4 plates and top with turkey strips and cheese shavings

Brightest Blessings,
~S~
