I had mentioned in a blop to Willow yesterday that I would post a bit about a song I had stuck in my head for months. It wasn't top 40, it wasn't top ANYTHING actually. It was the song from the Mamwich Commercial. I'm dead serious about this too. It was running through my head for two solid months and I was constantly singing it at work. Finally, I had a long sit-down talk with 'The Mamwich Song' and we came to an agreement. If I were to sing the song, out loud, once every day then it would stop bothering me all day long. So each morning, I sang the song, out loud, until finally, 'The Mamwich Song' left my head ... mostly for good. It stops in now and again ... just to make sure I remember it. What a sweet song!

Oh and my personal poetry will be pushed back to next week. I'm still sick, and I had some stuff pre-formatted and I'm using that.

ஜ~§What I'm Watching§~ஜ

Tonight is: TV Catch-Up night. The Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother and 2.5 Men is on the agenda tonight too. I have a ton of shows that were recorded during my trip that I didn't get to watch at the hotel. Our prime-time shows are starting back up again. Battlestar Galactica was on Friday night and it was absolutely the BOMB!!! We learned so much right off the bat but were still left with more unanswered questions. And the unexpected death was tragic and surprising. Can't wait for next week on BSG. I finally got to see an episode of Ghost Whisperer, the last two episodes didn't record due to a recording error on my DVR. (fookin' pisser!!!) I'm going to try and find back eppies on HULU. I hope they have them. Also Flashpoint and Numb3rs played on Friday.

Do any of you have any TV programs that they have to watch each week?

Sea Fever

I MUST go down to the seas again, to the lonely sea and the sky,
And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by,
And the wheel's kick and the wind's song and the white sail's shaking,
And a gray mist on the sea's face, and a gray dawn breaking.

I must go down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide
Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied;
And all I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying,
And the flung spray and the blown spume, and the sea-gulls crying.

I must go down to the seas again, to the vagrant gypsy life,
To the gull's way and the whale's way, where the wind's like a whetted knife;
And all I ask is a merry yarn from a laughing fellow-rover,
And quiet sleep and a sweet dream when the long trick's over.

Stir-Fried Tofu with Vegetables

Ingredients:
3 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon unseasoned rice vinegar
1 tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon oriental sesame oil
1/4 teaspoon dried crushed red pepper
1 12-ounce package extra-firm tofu, drained, cut into 3/4-inch cubes, patted dry with paper towels
1/4 cup water
1 teaspoon cornstarch
2 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided
6 ounces fresh shiitake mushrooms, stemmed, caps quartered
8 ounces sugar snap peas, trimmed
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 tablespoon minced peeled fresh ginger
4 green onions, sliced on diagonal

Preparation:
Whisk first 5 ingredients in medium bowl to blend. Add tofu and stir to coat; let marinate 30 minutes. Drain, reserving marinade in small bowl. Whisk 1/4 cup water and cornstarch into marinade.

Heat 1 tablespoon vegetable oil in large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add tofu and sauté until golden, about 2 minutes. Using slotted spoon, transfer tofu to plate. Add remaining 1 tablespoon vegetable oil to skillet. Add mushrooms and stir-fry until tender, about 3 minutes. Add sugar snap peas; stir-fry 2 minutes. Add garlic and ginger; stir-fry 30 seconds. Return tofu to skillet; drizzle reserved marinade mixture over. Stir-fry until marinade thickens slightly, about 30 seconds. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Transfer to bowl. Sprinkle with green onions and serve.

Brightest Blessings,

I do hope you feel better, nothing like being sick when the days begin to wax....remember...rest!

The mamwich commerical eh? I had to giggle at the thought, but hey at least it wasn't something worse!

I had never thought of singing something out loud to purge it from your mind, but it makes perfect sense....

Maybe I can sing my husbands name and it will have the same effect???

Take care of yourself, and I am thinking of you!

Clothes: My gut response was 'comfortable' but having said that I wouldn't go shopping in my lovely dressing gown. So - ambivalence!
