I want to send out a thanks to Jim at Irregularly Periodic Ruminations for this lovely award, that you'll see ... on the left eventually ... in the Awards patchy thingie. I really appreciate that Jim, makes me feel like I'm not doing all this bloggin for nothing, ya know? The Premios Dardo Award!

I didn't watch a single moment of the inauguration yesterday, I'm just not all into that Pomp and Circumstance. I wish the guy would just get to it already. Ya know ... I don't recall ever having a party thrown for me just because I got a job. Rediculous and in these economic times, incredibly expensive.

So on to the crux of the meme here: the RULES!!!

1) Accept the award, post it on your blog together with the name of the person who has granted the award and his or her blog link. (check-a-mumdo)
2) Pass the award to 15 other blogs that are worthy of this acknowledgment. Remember to contact the bloggers to let them know they have been chosen for this award. (checky numbah 2)

Jim, I agree with you ... fifteen people? WOWSIE.

Here goes.

1. Musings
2. Comedy Goddess
3. Pearl
4. Sidewalk Shoes
5. Anymommy Out There
6. Tongue in Cheek
7. An Explorers View of Life
8. Cheaper Than Therapy

10. High Desert Diva
11. Sassy Britches
12. Miss Grace's Disgrace

14. Profoundly Inarticulate
15. Don't Make Drugs

I'm stealing the disclaimer as well Jim:

"Standard disclaimer for the awardees: Follow the rules or don't. This is a no pressure blog. I award people because I appreciate their blogs and I like to acknowledge them. If you don't want to pass it on, that's cool, just enjoy it."

A quick notice to all ya'll as well ... I love awards, finding the people to send them out to can be seem to be a bit trying. It wasn't a trial finding all of you. You all do a brilliant job!!! I enjoy every day perusing through the meanderings of your minds, finding humor, sadness, forgiveness, energy, light, and clarity. Oh and ... as the disclaimer says, if you see it you get it ... if you don't want it ... by all means ... be your own person. All my best to all of you!!!

ஜ~§Poem Of The Day§~ஜ

I Hear America Singing

I hear America singing, the varied carols I hear,
Those of mechanics, each one singing his as it whould be blithe and strong,
The carpenter singing his as he measures his plank or beam,
The mason singing his as he makes ready for work, or leaves off work,
The boatman singing what belongs to him in his boat, the deckhand singing on the steamboat deck,
The shoemaker singing as he sits on his bench, the hatter singing as he stands,
The woodcutter's song, the ploughboy's on his way in the morning, or at noon intermission or at sundown,
The delicious singing of the mother, or of the young wife at work, or of the girl sewing or washing,
Each singing what belongs to him or her and to none else,
The day what belongs to the day--at night the party of young fellows, robust, friendly,
Singing with open mouths their strong melodious songs.

Walt Whitman (1860)
