ஜ~§Quote of the Day§~ஜ

I am a lie who always speaks the truth.
Jean Cocteau

ஜ~§The Question Of The Day§~ஜ

What creature would you choose as your spirit animal?

ஜ~§The Word Of The Day§~ஜ

Fool's gold

PRONUNCIATION:
(foolz gold)

MEANING:
noun: Something that appears valuable but is worthless.

ETYMOLOGY:
Shakespeare wrote in The Merchant of Venice, "All that glisters is not gold." Fool's gold is another name for pyrite, also known as iron pyrite or iron sulfide. Its shiny yellow luster has many fooled into believing they have struck gold while holding a mineral of little value.
The name pyrite is from Greek pyrites (of fire), from pyr (fire) because it produces sparks when struck against a hard surface. Some related words are fire, pyre, pyrosis (heartburn), pyromania (an irresistible impulse to set things on fire), and empyreal (relating to the sky or heaven, believed to contain pure light or fire).

USAGE:
"Although the old rust-belt industries of the 20th century had to go, Britain turned its back on industry rather too readily. We were bedazzled by financial services: fool's gold from the City."

ஜ~§Poem Of The Day§~ஜ

Richard Cory

Whenever Richard Cory went down town,
We people on the pavement looked at him:
He was a gentleman from sole to crown,
Clean-favoured and imperially slim.

And he was always quietly arrayed,
And he was always human when he talked;
But still he fluttered pulses when he said,
"Good Morning!" and he glittered when he walked.

And he was rich, yes, richer than a king,
And admirably schooled in every grace:
In fine -- we thought that he was everything
To make us wish that we were in his place.

So on we worked and waited for the light,
And went without the meat and cursed the bread,
And Richard Cory, one calm summer night,
Went home and put a bullet in his head.

Edwin Arlington Robinson

ஜ~§Recipe of the Day§~ஜ

Pesto Scrambled Eggs (this is possibly the easiest recipe I've posted)

Ingredients:
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 egg, lightly beaten
1/4 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
salt and pepper to taste
1/2 teaspoon pesto

Preparation:
Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. In a small bowl, combine egg, Cheddar cheese, salt and pepper. Pour into pan, and cook stirring for 3 to 5 minutes, or until desired doneness. Remove from heat, and stir in pesto.
Yield: 1 servings

Brightest Blessings,

Hi Sister Sweet!

Was that last episode of Psyche funny or what? That whole Friday the 13th spoof cracked me up.

I'm glad you've taken a brain break...if you don't it explodes, and that's just messy!

Happy day! :)
